An exhibition that celebrates the boundless possibilities of tapestry. “You Stretched Diagonally Across It: Contemporary Tapestry” presents works by twenty-five artists who have magnified and challenged the material, ideological, and narrative conventions of the age-old medium. The exhibition invites audiences to reconsider tapestry as a pivotal medium for questioning authenticity, surface, and structure.

    This master class explores how traditional block printing can be reimagined through experimentation and pattern play. With guidance from master artist Sunaina Bhalla, learn the fundamentals of traditional Indian hand block printing while working with a collection of intricate, hand-carved printing blocks. Begin the session by experimenting with color, composition, and pattern placement on paper before printing your own wearable 35″ x 70″ silk stole. No prior experience is required, and all materials are included.
